Lost luggage has become a global phenomenon, it is said to affect 1 in 150 US passengers every year. But it’s nothing more than what the average suitcase is filled with, right? Wrong. We’ve trawled through the world wide web to find the weirdest and most peculiar examples of Lost Luggage out there, from precious jewellery to unborn babies!

Modern times. Modern means. The Knights of the Round Table have swapped horse back for the hustle and bustle of flight. A 19th century suit of armour was found in lost luggage, good to see people using protection at least.

Yes. Correct, an Emerald! Some unlucky traveller left behind a whopping great 40.95 carat Emerald, it took a rock expert to determine the value of this luxurious green jewel. Was it stolen or was it a gift? Who knows!

A creepy life size puppet face was found in a wooden crate, was it an evil creature that killed it’s owner? No, it was simply a replica model of Hoggle from the whimsical film Labyrinth.

No, it’s not a joke, it’s very serious. Both were found inside a suave Gucci leather suitcase filled with nothing but paper. The artefacts were dated back to 1500 B.C. before being sold at the famous Christies auction house.
5. Houston! Yeah, everything’s fine.
A high-tech camera meant for a NASA Space Shuttle was found in an unclaimed piece of luggage. Unlike most arbitrary items lost or unclaimed, this expensive piece of equipment was whisked back to the US government pronto.

Tucked in the corner of suitcase was a sock, yes a sock, upon inspection a diamond ring was found inside this very sock. Once a stone expert examined the pricey piece of jewellery, it was confirmed it was a 5.8 carat rock encrusted in the ring!

Whether it was a fully trained adrenaline junkie or someone with patience problem, one thing’s for sure, they were prepared. A neatly packed parachute was found in a unclaimed luggage!

The state of the art guidance system for an F16 Fighter Jet worth in excess of $250,000 was found in someone’s lost luggage. Needless to say, the expensive piece of kit was promptly returned to the US Navy.

A luggage handler got more than they bargained for when they found a live Rattle snake slithering around someone’s lost suitcase, was it purposely left there or did it find it’s own way in there?

An entire suit case filled with designer dresses was found, all were genuine Versace’s and were found straight off the runway. Some unlucky lady will be cursing with luck profusely!

A piece of fine art that was tagged by a store and sold at $60 turned out to be worth in the region of $20,000 but whoever left it won’t see their $60 investment again let alone the suspected value of $20,000!

Airport workers found a human foetus in the rest room of a Continental Airlines plane that landed at Houston. Technically not lost luggage but the oddity factor makes it worthy of this list.
